Dr. Lowell Catlett spoke as the closing keynote at the CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum, a healthcare leadership event, on Monday, February 20th 2012 at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference, "Keeping CIOs at the Forefront of Healthcare Transformation" was an event bringing together  CIOs and senior HIT executives. "With the next wave of new challenges already on the horizon, playing catch-up is not an option. At the 2012 CIO Forum, members will learn how to lead at the speed of change through practical solutions, best practices and innovative strategies."

Dr. Catlett's presentation, "The Healthcare Revolution", described how the physician/hospital centered model is gradually being replaced with a patient-centered, concierge model focused on non-tethered technology and centers forexcellence. "It’s an industry that is borderless and holistic," describes Catlett, "where health is the norm and illness an aberration."

Dr. Catlett spoke at the event with keynote speaker Ken Blanchard and industry speakers Paul Grundy and pediatrician and blogging "Seattle Mama Doc" Wendy Sue Swanson.

Managing Excellence Conference Hosts Dr. Lowell Catlett for Business Management Council
Wednesday, 10 February 2010 00:00

The Star Phoenix provides great coverage of Dr. Lowell Catlett's keynote talk to the Canadian Farm Business Management Council; they recently hosted their annual Managing Excellence in Agriculture conference in Saskatoon. "Catlett does an excellent job of portraying the generational shift in attitudes. Our parents, the parents of baby boomers, typically led a life with few frills. Most were concerned with just putting food on the table and keeping the family clothed and sheltered. They knew all about tough times and making do. As baby boomers, we've lived in much more affluent times and therefore our demands and expectations are far different. Rather than just nutritious food for sustenance, there's demand for organic, free range, slow food, food with a smaller carbon footprint and food that can address health problems."

Nashville's Business Outlook Summit Hosts Dr. Catlett
Monday, 01 February 2010 00:00

Twitter was abuzz with praise for Dr. Lowell Catlett's keynote talk last week in Nashville, TN, at the Business Outlook Summit, sponsored by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. Optimistic in tone, Dr. Catlett's presentation was taped and you can watch a short clip of it on YouTube.

The Nashville Business Journal covered the event.

Catlett said he’s not making light of anyone’s struggles. But Catlett said some good economic news has been ignored in favor of the bad. He also said comparisons to the Great Depression go overboard, calling them “an insult to my father’s generation that went through” it.
